Buchanan: Bush Is Obligated to Stop Invasion of Illegal Aliens
In his latest best-seller, for “State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America,” Pat Buchanan makes his case that we must move quickly to erect a stronger, more restrictive immigration policy to stop and reverse the invasion of millions of illegal Mexican immigrants across our southwestern border.
If we fail to do so, says the conservative populist, the United States as we know it will disappear in 50 years. . .

Taking the Cause to the Big Screen
David N. Bossie earned a reputation as a relentless sleuth—or right-wing hit man, depending on one’s political persuasion—during his years as a high-profile Republican congressional investigator and conservative activist.
Through the 1990s, Bossie spent much of his time assembling caches of documents to push his admittedly ideological agenda. He was a ready promoter of stories about President Bill Clinton’s sexual and ethical lapses, proved and otherwise.
Bossie was fired as an investigator for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee after overseeing the release of recordings of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s phone conversations with Whitewater figure Webster L. Hubbell. The tapes were edited to create the impression that Clinton was involved in billing irregularities at the Arkansas law firm where she and Hubbell worked. . .

Details Emerge in British Terror Case
LONDON, Aug. 27 — On Aug. 9, in a small second-floor apartment in East London, two young Muslim men recorded a video justifying what the police say was their suicide plot to blow up trans-Atlantic planes: revenge against the United States and its “accomplices,” Britain and the Jews.
“As you bomb, you will be bombed; as you kill, you will be killed,” said one of the men on a “martyrdom” videotape, whose contents were described by a senior British official and a person briefed about the case. The young man added that he hoped God would be “pleased with us and accepts our deed.”
As it happened, the police had been monitoring the apartment with hidden video and audio equipment. Not long after the tape was recorded that day, Scotland Yard decided to shut down what they suspected was a terrorist cell. That action set off a chain of events that raised the terror threat levels in Britain and the United States, barred passengers from taking liquids on airplanes and plunged air traffic into chaos around the world. . .

DA defends decision to arrest Karr
BOULDER, Colo. – The prosecutor in the JonBenet Ramsey case Tuesday defended her decision to bring John Mark Karr halfway around the world to Colorado for investigation, saying it was difficult to separate fact from fantasy in his lurid account because every detail of the slaying is public knowledge.
District Attorney Mary Lacy said that in addition to Karr’s graphic account, his obvious predilection for little girls forced her hand.
“We felt we could not ignore this. We had to follow it,” she said. “There was a real public safety concern here directed at a particular child” in Thailand, and a forensic psychologist said Karr “was dangerous, this person was escalating. . .

UCLA Islamic Law Professor Fears Unseen Enemy
Who wants Khaled Abou el Fadl dead?
The question has haunted the UCLA Islamic law professor since April, when he says a bullet whizzed past his ear and lodged in a book as he was standing near his living room bookshelf in front of his open front door.
His fears intensified this month, after a news report in the Anaheim-based Al Watan newspaper and other Arabic-language media carried what Abou el Fadl calls a “solicitation of murder” against him. The article reported that Iranian extremists had declared it permissible to spill his blood because the scholar purportedly advised President Bush to support Israel’s strike against Lebanon, resist a cease-fire with the Hezbollah militia and block the Islamist movement.
Abou el Fadl, one of the nation’s most prominent critics of Saudi Arabia’s puritanical practice of Islam known as Wahhabism, called the news report “a total fabrication.” He said he has never met or advised Bush, although the White House appointed him to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom in 2003. He also said he opposed the Israeli strike on Lebanon and was highly critical of U.S. foreign policy in the Mideast. . .

Brother, dad say Karr didn’t kill JonBenet
Emphatically. Without a doubt,” Nate Karr said in a television interview.
Karr told ABC’s “Good Morning America” he was certain his brother spent Christmas 1996, when JonBenet was slain, with his family.
“Well I can say almost without question that from the time that John had children he has never missed a Christmas with his family, and that’s any Christmas,” said Karr, who appeared on the show with his father, Wexford Karr. . .
SNAKES ON A PLANE
First, let me tell how irresponsible it is to make a movie with a “how-to” guide for terrorists. I mean how long now before we have to undergo “snake inspections” at the airport. Can you imagine how that “pat down” will go? Hey, but seriously, what an idea! Did you know most commercial cargo carried by the airlines on passenger planes is not inspected? It’s not even x-rayed! Now, snakes are actually pretty tranquil, but they covered that angle here by boxing them with plants and spraying some pheromones around, which apparently agitates them. What are pheromones? Ah, go look it up… Coupled with a timed explosive release, it’s a recipe for disaster you see. Well, in the movies it is – no wonder this film got so much “internet” buzz – you can’t get any more basic a concept then “snakes on a plane”.
It’s then strange to say that even though the movie debuted at number one, its box office total disappointed at about 15 million. Honestly, a bad horror movie can do twice that amount with a little promotion. Too bad the studio suits bypassed that idea, and relied on nerdy shut-ins using the internet to spread the word. Well, it didn’t happen, but the good news is that this is a fun movie which deserves a better run, and maybe now people will show up. (more…)
